While working for the National Screen Service, an acquaintance put Alex in touch
with the art director at Better Publications, which housed 'Standard Publishing'.
For most of the '30s, Alex did B&W interior drawings for the pulps 'Thrilling Adventure',
'Thrilling Detective', 'Thrilling Western' and 'Thrilling Wonder Stories'. While many
focus on Alex's Timely work, his greatest Quantity of comics' work, almost 300 covers, was
