The 1950s saw Bill firmly entrenched at Atlas, working for owner Martin Goodman,
and editor-in-chief Stan Lee. Atlas, as they were wont to do, were following the trends
of the moment. EC Comics were doing horror comics with great success, and many other
companies followed suit.
But many other companies didn't have Bill Everett working for them. Bill had many fine
artistic achievements in his career, but his finest work may be as a cover artist for
Atlas, in the '50s, in the horror genre. The work is highly detailed, and absolutely
stunning in design and composition.
The Comics Code Authority hit the industry hard, forcing creative geniuses like Bill
to tone down their work, but Bill still produced outstanding quality. This is the largest
